
 The Bay Area Black United Fund is a non-profit organization founded in 1979 that is dedicated to raising funds for community-based agencies and initiatives to ensure that the needs of African American and other communities of color continue to be met. Through its health re-granting program BABUF supports community efforts that empower African Americans to become more self-sufficient. The Bay Area Black United Fund offers funding opportunities to support the Bay Area African American Health Initiative (BAAAHI), a collaborative effort of African American health organizations, private and public agencies, holistic health providers and faith-based communities working together to promote healthy lifestyles and wellness in African American communities.
Funding Priorities: The Bay Area Black United Fund currently funds non-profit agencies focused on the elimination and reduction of health inequities impacting African Americans in the Bay Area. BABUF offers two types of funding possibilities: |

- Co-sponsorships of health related activities

BABUF does not accept unsolicited proposals related to the Bay Area African American Health Initiative.
Co-sponsorships: The Bay Area Black United Fund accepts unsolicited letters requesting co-sponsorship of events supporting community mobilization in areas of health promotion, awareness and education. Co-sponsorship funds range from $250-$1,000. Funds are limited.
Eligibility for funding: Non-profit agencies with 501 (c) 3 status (Community-based organizations without a 501 (c) 3 may obtain a fiscal agent)
